4 Reasons Why a Robot Vacuum is Totally Worth the Cost

4 Reasons Why a Robot Vacuum is Totally Worth the Cost

I have to be honest with you…I don’t love cleaning. I love the results of cleaning, but can we just talk about how long it takes to pick up the clutter before the cleaning?!? By the time my house is ready to clean, I’m exhausted, and it can wait for another day when I have more energy. :-)

This is where the robot vacuum comes into play. I’m not sure what this says about my cleaning habits, but after my divorce when I moved into my grandparents’ old house, my parents bought me a gift, and it was a robot vacuum.

When I was a kid, my parents instituted the “JBWLY” present. “Just because we love you”…not because it’s your birthday or Christmas or whatever other holiday, but just because this thing made me think of you and I wanted you to have it so bad that I’m giving it to you just because. Isn’t that so sweet?? So sweet, in fact, that I wasn’t even offended in the slightest when my JBWLY was a vacuum. I’m sure I made a joke about it at the time, but honestly, I was just excited to take any chore off my plate.

4 Reasons Why a Robot Vacuum is Totally Worth the Cost - Renovating Wonderland

So, the reasons I absolutely love having this little guy (I call mine “Eufy” because that’s the brand name, and I guess I wasn’t feeling particularly creative that day)?

  1. It’s a multi-tasking pro - I can literally be doing anything else and my little Eufy is doing the dirty work. Working from home? Eufy can vacuum while I do that. Mowing the lawn? Eufy can vacuum while I do that. Drinking wine and binging Ozark on Netflix? Eufy has got this, and I don’t even feel guilty (not even a little bit).

  2. It’s totally adorable - I am not a person who has ever had a pet. Like, they are really cute when someone else owns them, but I’m just not into full-time caring for them in my own home (also, cats are creepy, but that’s another story entirely). It’s honestly like I have a little animal rolling around, though! And instead of making a mess, Eufy is cleaning up the mess. What a deal!

  3. Vaccuuming is totally mindless. My version of Eufy does not have the app where you can map everything out (those are incredibly cool), but it does have some cool features to stay on track. Mine actually came with these magnetic strips that Eufy knows to stop at. So, any areas or rooms you don’t want it to go into, you can just put that magnetic strip down over the threshold, and the vaccuum basically treats it like a wall. Pretty awesome!

  4. Watching it do its thing is kind of ASMR-y. I’m someone who likes to know how things work, so watching it and trying to figure out how it is deciding where it’s going to go is pretty fascinating. You don’t have to be as much of a dork as me, but you have to admit that these little gizmos are pretty incredible!

Like I mentioned earlier, I have the Eufy brand, which I am very happy with. The company seems to be pretty hip when it comes to technology (they also offer smart doorbells and outdoor cameras), and the setup and use of the robot vac was incredibly easy.

You can buy lots of Eufy products on Amazon. A bunch of them are on sale right now, so they are currently ranging in price from $109-$399. Full dislosure, if you buy through this link I make a small commission (a girl’s gotta make a living, right??).

Get yourself a robot vacuum, and let me know how much you love it!
